UCC Musicians Association is delighted that we have an active and accomplished group of composers among our members. We began the Composers Forum to provide conference workshops on topics of special interest to composers, to showcase their work, to recognize and support the work of our composer members. In 2006 the Composers Forum published a collection of member compositions. The 18 compositions span the liturgical seasons and include pieces for solo voice, choir (accompanied and a cappella), and handbells. Click here for further information. Each of our conferences features a “composers’ track” of workshops on topics of special interest to composers as well as opportunities to have works performed and critiqued by their peers.
The Composers Forum has several projects underway – a composers’ roster intended to facilitate performance of existing works and commissioning of new work by fellow member’s churches; further development of the website to include musical samples of our composers’ pieces; and a follow-up collection to our 2006 book.
